Key facts about your rental

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

In order to rent a vehicle, the driver must fulfil the following requirements:

  •  Be at least 21 years old for vehicle categories A, B, J, Z and V2. For the rest of the categories, the driver must be at least 25 years old. Young people at the age of 19 & 20 can drive categories A, B, J, Z and V2 under the condition of pre-approval by the company and acceptance of the young driver surcharge
    detailed in Appendix 1.
  •  Own a valid credit/debit card, accepted by the company, for the pre-authorization of the renter’s liability, the deposit, and the payment of the rental cost (for non-prepaid bookings).
  • Hold a driving license for at least 12 months. The driving license must be Greek, or European for EU countries, or International for non-EU countries.

Authorized drivers: Only the renter and any other authorized person may drive the vehicle. However, they are not allowed to drive the vehicle if they are over-tired, or under the influence of any substance that may impair their consciousness or ability to react (such as alcohol, drugs or certain medication). Authorized drivers must meet the age limits and hold a valid driving license for at least 1 year.

RENTAL AGREEMENT

  • The Rental Agreement is the document you sign and receive either as an electronic copy in your email, or as a printed copy when you pick-up the vehicle. It includes the various details of the rental, and by signing it you confirm that they are correct and accept the:
    > General Terms and Conditions, as stated on the Rental Agreement
    > Rental Terms as described in this document
  •  The Rental Agreement is signed with Autohellas Hertz and all the references to "Hertz", "we", "us" and "our" are to that company. All references to "you" and "your" are to the renter/driver. The Rental Agreement is governed by the Greek Law and any dispute that might arise between the company and the renter shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens. The invalidity of any term or condition of the present does not imply invalidity of the entire agreement, which will remain in force and be binding for the contracting parties with regards to the remaining terms and conditions.

RESPONSIBILITY

Company’s responsibility: We are responsible to you for providing the vehicle in good overall and operating condition and for replacing the vehicle in the event of mechanical breakdown.

Renter’s responsibility: You must care for, use, and return the vehicle in accordance with the signed Rental Agreement and pay the agreed rental cost. You must have a copy (even electronic) of the Rental Agreement available in case of a Police inspection.

In case of late return, loss, or damage to the vehicle, as well as in case of fines and other charges arising during the rental, you are responsible to the company. Please read the Rental Agreement to fully understand your obligations.
